‘UPDATED’…List Of Where To Watch UFC Fights

Don’t wanna budget for some or all of the UFC ppv events?  Are you a saint, and don’t use pirate sites to illegally watch ppv (payperview) events?   The best and cheapest alternative is to invade a bar or restaurant near you.  Some locations are free of a cover charge.  And in my opinion, $5 -$10 is okay for a cover, especially for the bigger name mma fighters.

Official For Chicago, Nov. 7th: Fedor’s Next Opponent Is Undefeated Big Bad Brett Rogers

Fedor EmelianenkoNo. 1versus‘    Brett RogersNo. 11

  • Fedor’s Fighting Style—Sambo/Judo
  • Rogers Fighting Style—Boxing/Muay Thai/Wing Chun

On November 7th, at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Strikeforce is bringing this Chicago western suburb a wonderful treat of elite  mixed martial arts action!

Brett Rogers (10-0) is the upstart mma newcomer and undefeated big heavyweight(6′-5″—265lbs).  Rogers usually walks around weighing around 285lbs.  The weight limit for heavyweights is 265lbs.  Fedor (30-1) is the #1 heavyweight and consensus best fighter in the world(230lbs.), pound for pound.  So here we have it; Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko  vs.  Brett “The Grim Reaper” Rogers.  I can only hope that it lives  up to the hype.

Rogers blasted away veteran and former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski in 22 seconds in his last fight to put himself in more conversations when talk about top heavyweights come up.  Rogers stepped in to fight Arlovski in just a few weeks notice.Rogers has shown very nice skills, especially on  his feet.  Others say that we don’t quite know how Rogers ground game is, however.  I don’t see many fighters even getting him to the ground and in vulnerable positions.

Like Fedor, Rogers is very quick and athletic for their size and build.  Rogers quite possibly will be the stronger of the two and surely the biggest by some 30lbs plus.  Fedor is just the guy to give Rogers his first pro mma lost and bring the upstart back down to earth.  Rogers, who was working as a tire repair worker at the local Sam’s Club before  he starting fighting mma, does have supreme confidence in his skills, and states that come November 7th, ‘jaws will drop!’.

Rogers publicly challenged Kimbo Slice to a fight right in a press conference that he had no other reason to be at but to disrupt and hype his name.  Nothing wrong with that I guess.

MMAviewers is predicting a 2nd round knockout for the heavy underdog Brett Rogers!

With so many none believers in Fedor stemming from the fact that he fights outside of the UFC (whom many feel have the top fighters), the same type of people probably don’t like Rogers.  Fedor Emelianenko has indeed fought and beaten elite and top notch heavyweights such as Arlovski, Tim Sylvia, Mark Coleman(twice), Mirko Cro Cop, Big Noguiera(twice), and Ricardo Arona.  Fedor has dominated the competition, and hasn’t lost since 2001, when he was disqualified for an inadvertent illegal blow.   Fedor has amassed a plethora of 1st place finishes in other combat sport competitions, which adds to his billing as the very best there is currently.  He’s well rounded, and has some of the best grappling and submission skills found in mma.  His punching power is also pretty good.

I think we’ll see a rally around the Minnesota-born Brett Rogers.   Roger was actually born in Chicago, lived on both the west and southside, and lived in Cabrini Green housing projects.  Rogers says he still has many friends and relatives that live in Chicago, and he expects to have his share of believers in the crowd this coming Saturday.  The winner will surely be in line for a title shot against the champion Alistair Overeem.

Article Notes:
-Fighter Jason Miller is the host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown
-Jake Shields is regarded as one of the top 3 welterweight fighters in the world, possibly only 2nd to Georges-St. Pierre(GSP). He has supreme grappling and submission skills.
-Gegard Mousasi(26-2) is only 24 years old.  He’s Iranian, and raised in the Netherlands.  He’s already a 4 time champion.  This will be his first fight on American soil, and he hopes to popularize his name amongst the mma world.
-Antonio Silva, before recently signing on with Strikeforce was regarded by MMAviewers.com as the #1 heavyweight fighting outside of the UFC & Strikeforce.  He will be tested against the favored and fellow Brazilian Werdum who’s a well-known Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace.
-Marloes Coenen is regarded as one of the top 5 female mixed martial arts fighters in the world.  She was slated to fight Chicagoan and former Gladiators star Erin Toughill.  But Toughill had to pull out due to injury.  Coenen now fights someone whom she has lost to before 2 years ago to a split decision.
