I’m not even a big fan of the big boys, but damn this looks like a good season! I really have a feeling Kimbo is not going to get very far … or Roy Nelson for that matter. I think your winner will be someone you don’t expect! (How’s that for an obvious prediction?!)
Jane, you have to become of fan of the big boys. They are evolving and their skill sets are becoming more technical and concise…like the not-so-big boys.
I’m currently putting together a list of top up-and-coming big men in mma; a definite list of big men that some haven’t heard of, that are making their marks in mma. Stay tuned…..and Subscribe to MMAviewers.com
If those first two fights were an indication of their “skill sets … becoming more technical and concise” then that is a very sad statement indeed! Quite honestly I wanted to see that second fight go to a third round just to see them both collapse from exhaustion. Terrible, terrible, terrible. It actually reminds me of earlier seasons where guys fought so hard just to cut weight. Didn’t you know you were coming here? Didn’t you know you were going to have to weigh-in at a certain weight? Duh! Same as these guys. Didn’t you know you would have to fight longer than three minutes? Have you heard of cardio? BTW, what the hell fight was Mazzagatti watching? He kept saying “awesome fight”. I don’t know what he was talking about….
I love watching the little guys in WEC because the matches are so fast-paced. The only thing the big guys are good for is an awesome knockout. When it goes to decision, it is rarely an entertaining fight.

I don’t know what that means….
First prediction: check! lol
Means nothing, I know. But hey, before I didn’t much care for Kimbo Slice. Now I see he’s actually a pretty decent guy … who just happens to not be an mma fighter.
Funny thing is that I am liking Roy Nelson as a person less and less as the show goes on….
sigh
This season of TUF is doing absolutely nothing to win me over to being a fan of the heavyweights – aside from Rashad Evans, who makes me laugh the way he gets under Rampage’s skin like that.
But seriously, that last fight looked a whole helluva lot like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1eFdUSnaQM
The only difference is that it was five times longer!!!
Before I have to sit through another one of these snoozefests, can I get some of whatever the hell Dana White was on? Did you notice when he stood up and gave his standing ovation that everyone else was looking at him like he was high? Maybe he was….
It took until the final episode of the series for Dana White to be impressed with Roy Nelson. I’m not so easily impressed, I guess. But I came on here three months ago and said Nelson would not win. It took until his win over Brendan Schaub on Saturday night for me to be impressed. Not so much by his fighting but that was a helluva knockout.
So I say this: yes, I was wrong. Nelson won. These things happen. I still think he’s a dink and I hope his next opponent will give him a beatdown like he’s never seen before!
Nelson has been beatdown before. But there’s no mistaken Nelson’s talents. He’s a real mma fighter; a good one despite his burly looks.
