Understanding UFC Salary Breakdowns: UFC 114

Dong Hyun Kim (Korea)---still undeated (13-0; 6 ko's)

The totals below are inclusive, considering that they do not include deductions for items such as taxes, licenses, and insurance.  As well, the totals do not include money paid to the fighter by their sponsors, which usually amount to a substantial portion of a fighter’s income.   And I’m sure they get a small cut of the revenue generated by ppv sales.

In other words, the figures below are simply base salaries reported to the Nevada State Commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event. With that, most salaries will probably at least stay the same, and often time higher than the reported totals.

Many fight fans tend to disagree in terms of how much a certain fighter receives.  For example, Bisping’s salary was significantly higher than Dan Miller.  However, when you consider that Bisping represents a huge following from the United Kingdom(U.K.), as well as being considered as one of the better fighters from that country in which he has aided in ushering in the UFC’s continued growth around the world.

We’ll never know exactly how much fighters gross per fight.  As fight fans, we always like to see these true alpha males compensated for their participation is such a dangerous combat sport as mixed martial arts.

I don’t particularly care how much each fighter makes, but I am interested in the relative amounts. That is to say, I was quite surprised that Bisping made as much as he did, but didn’t earn a very high win bonus, compared to others. What’s the deal with that? Is his agent just not very good? I mean, his base salary for the fight was much higher than Lil Nog, yet Nog gets a huge win bonus by comparison.
Maybe it’s part of Bisping’s TUF contract? Is he still fighting on that or has that expired?

That’s a good question Jane. My thinking is that Lil’ Nog has been fighting for 3 years longer than Bisping.
