Kimbo Slice, ground and pounding

On a few occasions, we’ve heard glorified streetfighter turned mma’er Kimbo Slice refer to himself as the black Goldberg.  Assuming he’s referring to the WWE’s Goldberg, he’ll be looking to spear his opponent, fellow TUF 10 contender Matt Mitrione, on his way to victory.  Kimbo Slice impressed in his last fight against an unwilling Houston Alexander.  Nonetheless, you can see some of the improvements Kimbo had made is his pursuit of learning some overall mma skills.  Slice is in need of another win, and we’ll see how much Mitrione has improved; he looked very well toward the end of TUF 10.

Lyoto Machida, LHW (UFC) Champion

The long awaited rematch of the decade is upon us as we get a second chance to see two of the most dynamic and electrifying strikers to ever hit the octagon.  The undefeated champion at 205lbs in the UFC, Lyoto Machida (16-0) looks to put an end to the controversial decision he garnered in his win over Mauricio Rua (18-4) October, 2009.

Many felt Rua’s striking was much more damaging as well as his aggressiveness throughout the 5 round bout.  However, the judges held to a belief that you have to end the champion.  Shogun Rua looks to subside the disbelief of that fight, as he looks to finish Machida via knockout or submission.   It will be a treat to see these world class athletes display their game plans and methods of attacks, as they have had 5 months to make adjustments from their last fight.
