King Mo—”Do you like sleeping?”
Mousasi—”….[I like] free time.”
King Mo—”Come April 17th, you’ll have plenty of free time.”

More Videos Below!

The Gegard Mousasi(28-2; 17 ko’s, 9 subs) Vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal(6-0; 5 ko’s) is main event material in itself. Some would differ because they may feel that Lawal hasn’t scrapped his elbows on the canvas long enough in mma to warrant such a huge and early opportunity. However, this is where Strikeforce separates themselves in many respects. With a smaller overall number of fighters in the stable, it leaves room for a guy like King Mo to be able to both fight and ‘talk’ his way into a championship match. Perhaps he’s taking a page out of Brock Lesnar’s book of doing business via brute confidence.

I just wanted to post some video’s of clips encompassing the the aura around this fight. It’ll be clear that both fighters have created this hype, as Strikeforce and CBS will air the event (SF: Nashville) live. This is a progressive move by Strikeforce that will bring in a slew of casual mma fans. How could you not be impressed with being able to welcome more fans to the sport of mma. There’s room for more than just one, or two top level organizations. And so far, Strikeforce hasn’t disappointed us, in terms of action-packed fights.

For one how can you not be intrigued by the arrival of arguably the second best lightweight (155lbs) fighter in the world in Japan’s mma star Shinya Aoki. The 26 year old is 23-4; 14 subs. It’ll be his first fight ever outside of Japan. So basically, we have 3 title fights, each worthy of holding it’s own merit. The main event matchup features champion Jake Shields(24-4; 10 subs) vs. Dan “Hendo” Henderson(25-7; 11 ko’s). Shields is a top 20 pound 4 pound fighter in the world. And the 39 year old Hendo, still going very strong (insert Michael Bisping), looks to win his 3 belt in as many top level mma organizations spanning his glorified mma career.

Where it all started: Mousasi to fanhouse.com….”Not Impressed” by King Mo:

King Mo’s Response…being as confident as ever; you either like the brashness, or you don’t.  Nonetheless, it’s good for hype material!
